What are the school hours?
School begins at 8:40 am and ends at 3:20 pm.
What do you do if your child is absent?
Please phone the school at (416) 396-3040 and leave a message with your child's name, teacher and reason for absence.
Where do you drop off and pick up your child?
For rooms 124, 126 and 128, please drop off and pick up your child in the enclosed area with the small playground. For rooms 162 and 167, please drop off and pick up your child by the doors just past the enclosed area. Your child's teacher will greet them at the bell and meet whomever is picking them up at the end of the day. At drop off times, please stay with your child until the teacher arrives.
What kind of shoes does your child need for school?
It is very important that you label everything that your child brings to school (coats, runners, boots, mitts, hats, etc). This way we can ensure that these items get returned to the right owner. Each child must have a clean pair of non-marking running shoes for use in the gym and classroom. Please consider velcro if your child is unable to tie their own shoes. Students will also require a regular sized backpack to carry notes and belongings. As accidents do occur, please send an extra set of clothing in your child’s bag.
When will your child eat?
As it is a Full Day Kindergarten program, please ensure you send your child with nutritious snacks and a healthy lunch. Each classroom will allocate a time for your children to eat their snacks. If your child stays at school for lunch, they will eat lunch in their classrooms, then go outside for recess. Just a reminder that we follow a boomerang system where everything is sent back home at the end of the day (uneaten food and garbage). Also, please try to send a litter less lunch bag where food and water is stored in reusable containers and all food is kept in a seal-able lunch bag.
Can you send treats for your child's birthday?
Birthdays are an important part of the school year. If you are bring in a treat (cupcakes work best) to celebrate please let us know and keep in mind the number of students in your child's class. A friendly reminder that peanut/nut products are not allowed in the school.
How do you contact your child's teacher?
Communication with the teacher is an important part of your child's education. Please feel free to call the school to leave a message and your child's teacher will respond at their earliest convenience.
